Welcome to Kōke’e Leaseholders Association

OUR MISSION

To maintain and protect the unique historic recreational-resident community located in Kōkeʻe & Waimea Canyon State Parks and to ensure the public’s continued use and enjoyment of this heritage area.

UPCOMING EVENTS

DLNR to auction off leases for Kōke’e cabins

Annual leases for seven cabins in the Kōke’e recreation residence community will be auctioned to the public in mid-April by the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.

The historic Kōke’e recreation residence community began in the mountains of Kaua‘i in 1918. It was created for the protection of forest resources and the watershed, but also for recreational pursuits and public access.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

KLA has two membership categories: Regular Members and Associate Members. Regular Members are individuals who are named on a lease from State Parks for a cabin in the Kōke’e area. All other individuals associated with the person named on the lease (spouses, immediate family members, hui members, etc.) should sign up as Associate Members.

In 2021 we made a change to our bylaws that opened up the Associate Membership category to anyone interested in supporting our work at Kōkeʻe, even if you are not associated with a cabin. We made this change because we feel strongly that it is important to build our membership base so that it is more diverse and reflective of the broader community that loves and uses Kōkeʻe!

There are no annual dues associated with the Associate Membership (that’s right, it is free!!) but we do appreciate any donations these Associate Members make to support the mission of KLA

If you would like to apply to be a new member or to renew your current membership, complete the form at this link. Our memberships run for the calendar year, so we are accepting memberships for 2024 now.
